I went to take down our laundry (three machine-loads) from the lines in the drying room in our cellar, ready for a good hour of folding and pressing. One of my neighbours who was there doing her own lundry had done the whole work for me! My nicely folded clothes were waiting on the counter. She explained that she had nothing to do and therefore had gone to the laundry room one hour before her booking with tought that she could employ her time doing something useful. I had to make the quick decision of considering her gesture pure kindness and not an intrusion, so I thanked her heartliy.

Sono scesa per togliere dai fili della sala asciugatrice il nostro bucato, pronta a spendere una buona ora a piegare tre lavatrici cariche. Una mia vicina che era in lavanderia a fare il suo bucato aveva giá piegato tutta la nostra roba! Mi ha spiegato che non avendo nulla da fare era scesa in lavanderia un'ora prima della sua prenotazione con l'iniziativa di rendersi utile. Ho dovuto prendere la rapida decisione di considerare il suo gesto pura cordialitá e non un'intrusione e l'ho ringraziata di cuore.
