My dear friend Eva and I talk of many things, of anything and of everything. Most books she passes on to me are of my liking. This is proof enough that Eva knows me well. She is a teacher just as I am and has a long way commuting to get to and from work just as I do. Eva knows that my mind (just as hers) these days is filled with tutorial dead-lines and with documents to be delivered on our principals' desks describing what and how we are going to teach this year. So when she came with the little red book "to be read in the underground" I knew I could trust her. The uncommon reader by Alan Bennet is so funny that I have to choke my laughter as I seat in the train surrounded by easily irritable people. The Queen of England discovers the art and pleasure of reading books and the whole country experiences a change...TO BE READ, TO BE READ!
Con la mia cara amica Eva parlo di molte cose, di qualsiasi cosa e di tutto. La maggior parte dei libri che mi passa da leggere sono di mio gradimento. Questa è prova sufficiente che Eva mi conosce bene. Eva è insegnante come me e come me trascorre diverse ore in metropolitana per andare e tornare dal lavoro. Eva sa che la mia mente (come la sua) in questi giorni è completamente presa da curriculum e progetti d'insegnamento per quest'anno scolastico da consegnare al preside il piú presto possibile. Cosí quando mi ha dato in mano il libro rosso "da leggere in metropolitana" sapevo di potermi fidare. La lettrice insolita (mia traduzione) di Alan Bennet è talmente comico che devo soffocare le risate nella metro sotto le occhiate irritate degli altri passeggeri. La regina d'Inghilterra scopre l'arte della lettura di romanzi e l'intero paese subisce una svolta...DA LEGGERE, DA LEGGERE!
